Baking Pie Pops with Kids

Making pie pops with your kids!
Apple Pie Pops

So I've been thinking a lot about Fall lately and thought I'd share the recipe for these cute Pie Pops.  I've seen them pop up all over Pinterest over the last few years and I have absolutely no idea where I got the  initial recipe from at this point.  I first made them two years ago for a school bake sale at our Fall Carnival.  They are EASY to make with kids and are adorable when finished.

Father's Day Album
This year, why not start a new tradition for Father's Day?

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking about a new Father's Day tradition you can start this year!

I love family traditions.  They give families an identity, a fun way to be creative, a bit of structure, and something to look forward to each year that encourages us to keep making new memories.

So I wanted to share a great teaching toy today!  I've actually got several other toys and games in mind that I seem to ALWAYS recommend to friends and fellow teachers, so I'll definitely have some future posts on this topic as well. (And no, I'm not being compensated for this endorsement.  I just love to share great things I've found!)

This toy TODAY is one that I recently learned about.  My sister returned from a conference where these kits were given away by the vendors.  She thought right away that our family would love them! She was right, we think they're great.  Several of them found their way into our Easter baskets, so we were thrilled.

CHIP Trophies!

Motivate your students by offering this cute award!
Need a way to motivate your students or children? Try using CHIP Trophies! I relied on these so much during my public school teaching days and will be starting these soon with my own children in our homeschool.  My kids DEFINITELY need a little push in this direction.  I'll keep my words short since I don't want to lose you before I get to the tutorial.

Here's the scoop:

CHIP stands for Cooperative, Happy, Independent, Person.  Make a bunch of these at the beginning of the year and put them in a prominent spot where they will be seen while reminding the students of their goal.  Discuss these attributes, put up a bulletin board, and watch...

Easy Sewing Project

A great first time sewing project for kids
7 year old sewing on her own
I wanted to share a cute project I did with my girls a few days ago.  These are designed for kids 8+ to make.  My girls are 5 and 7 so there was a bit more supervision required.  We loved them!  It was the perfect, quick, project that we could create and they could play with right away.  The kit came with all the materials you'd need except scissors.  The needles are flexible and dull which made them perfect for using with felt and little fingers.  Did I mention that the holes are already in the felt for even easier sewing?  Love these!  They're great to help with...
